Milestone Systems - SMART CLIENT Demo Directions

SMART CLIENT is a thin client that installs on a client PC to connect to the Milestone Systems Recording Servers.

This should be used when you want to install a full-featured client that will maintain residence on a remote PC.

Basically all you have to know is the following:

HTTP Address
Port number
Authentication Mode
User Name
Password

of the Milestone Recording Server you want to connect to

Below are the instructions to connect to the

Tech/Rep Milestone LIVE Recording Server to evaluate the SMART CLIENT.

Step 1...

Step 2...

Download the SMART CLIENT installer.

You must make sure that you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 installed on your target PC.

If you receive an error message during the SMART CLIENT installation regarding .NET Framework 4, click on this link:

Try to re-install the SMART CLIENT software.

Once the SMART CLEINT software is installed, start the program and you should see this:

Step 4...

Open the TR DEMO folder.

Click on ALL DEMO view.

You are now on the LIVE VIEW screen using a matrix view...

If you DOUBLE CLICK on any image, you will get a full screen image of the camera selected.

DOUBLE CLICK again, and you will return to the matrix view.

PTZ DEMO - PTZ Viewing

TRANSCODING DEMO - Compare Transcoding capabilities using a 5MP Camera (Transcoding allows you to set the specific quality of the bandwidth for low bandwith applications. When you open an image in FULL view, you get a complete full bandwidth image. The images are set to Mega Pixel (top left), HIGH (top right), MEDIUM (bottom right), LOW (bottom left). Transcoding is very usefull when using a lot of cameras in MATRIX view.

NOTE: There is (1) PTZ camera. When you click on that image, you will be able to pan/tilt/zoom in the image. You will also be able to use the PRESET function located on the left.

NOTE: There are several MP cameras. When you click on that image (not CAROUSEL), you will be able to DIGITALLY PTZ in the image. Hold the left MOUSE key and draw a box to quickly zoom into the image. Hit the CENTER CIRLE in the PTZ CONTROL to return to full view or use the SCROLL WHEEL on the MOUSE.

STEP 4...

To see PLAYBACK click on the PLAYBACK tab at the top.

You should see this image:

Step 5...

You are now on the PLAYBACK VIEW screen using a matrix view...

You will see the TIME NAVIGATION tool on the left. It operates like a VCR. Basically choose the DATE and TIME parameters and use the PLAYBACK ARROWS to control the playblack.

All camera views will be synched and playback at the same time.

If you DOUBLE CLICK on any image, you will get a full screen image of the camera selected.

DOUBLE CLICK again, and you will return to the matrix view.

The PRINT and EXPORT functions are disabled in this demo mode.

To get back to LIVE VIEW, click on the LIVE tab at the top.

When you are done with your demo, click on the X to end your demo.
