What Len's Should I Use?
This is the most common question we are asked in the Security industry regarding mega pixel cameras.
The jargon used can be very confusing: Resolution, FOV, LUX, Pixel Density, Working Distance, Back Focal Length, Focal Length, Sensor Size, F Stop, etc...
Sometimes it feels like you have to be an optical engineer just to get started!
We have broken down the most common Security applications into 4 basic categories:
- Facial Recognition - I need to be able to identify faces
- License Plate Recognition - I need to be able to read moving license plates
- Visual Identification - I need to be able to identify people or objects that are already known to the user
- Presence Detection - I need a general view of what is going on but do not need to identify specifically what things are
